PDO Threading/Non-surgical Facelift
So what are PDO threads?
Dr. Shannon is trained and certified by MINT™, which stands for Minimally Invasive Non-surgical Threads. It is a unique absorbable thread designed to approximate and fixate sagging tissues. The thread is made from a complex sugar polydioxanone or PDO – a safe suture material that has been used in orthopedic and cardiovascular surgeries for over 30 years. Treatments involve minimal pain and minimal downtime, and the results can be seen immediately, so you can look and feel your best in no time. It’s time to stop worrying and start rejuvenating! As the threads dissolve in the tissue, collagen continues to be produced and the results get better over time–results lasting anywhere, on average, from 9-15 months. What is good for?

PRP/Exosome Facial also known as the ‘Vampire Facial’:
This is a fantastic way to address the resurfacing needs of the face, neck, decolatouge, and often the back of the hands for purposes of:
- Inducing collagen stimulation
- Shrinking pores
- Softening fine lines
- Addressing skin discloration/hyperpigmentation (depending on the cause, such as sun damage versus a metabolic abnormaltiy)
This procedure is minimally invasive with essentially no down time (avoid direct sunlight for at least 72 hours), used by means of a handpen that has 36-42 small needles on the tip which create micro tears in the tissue–allwoing the substance to penetrate the pores to begin the tissue remodeling.
BOTULINUM TOXIN (Botox):
People often ask, (rightfully so!), is it safe? I will say this. Botox is being used for many pathologic conditions including: TMJ, headaches, and various other neck pain. The amounts used therapeutically in those instances is on average, about ten times the amount we use for cosmetic purposes.
Botox is a fantastic way to avoid or put off dermal fillers for as long as possible. By softening the muscle movement throughout the face, jawline, and platysma of the neck, we’re allowing the surrounding lines to reduce in their visual appearance. The average treatment lasts 3-6 months. At Modern Apothecary, Dr. Shannon uses a unique product that is relativlely new to the market. This product has been vastly studied and shows a quicker onset and slightly longer lasting effect then some other products on the market.
